Penny Gildea

I began to enamel at Mid-Warwickshire College of Further College of Education when I was studying for City and Guilds in fashion jewellery, after this I took a diploma in jewellery design.

Some years later, I was later very fortunate to be able to resume studying at the Jewellery School in Birmingham where I learned to engrave and improve my general skills. After leaving, the Jewellery School I set up workshops in Warwickshire and later in the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham where I worked for over ten years making and designing enamelled jewellery and objects for sale at galleries, exhibitions and commissions.

As well as developing my craft and ideas I have taught enamelling at the School of Jewellery and have been the Chairman of the Guild of Enamellers.
