Lindsay Steele

Lindsay attended Hornsey School of Art and studied painting techniques of the old masters in the National Gallery and British Museum.

She taught painting in adult education in Surrey and ran silk painting, pastel making and oil colour making workshops. she continues to make and use her own paints made from raw pigments. She is particularly interested in incorporating figures in the landscape and to this end often paints beach scenes and townscapes.

She has exhibited widely in surrey and London in both solo and group shows including those at the Mall gallery, Westminster Hall and a successful solo exhibition at St Johns. Smith Square. Also a semi-finalist in TVs 'Watercolour Challenge'.

Since moving to the Cotswolds four years ago she has had four solo exhibitions and taken part in Cheltenham Open houses and become an exhibiting member of the Fosseway group of artists and Gloucestershire Society of Artists.
